Among the poor people selected by the Sisters of My Tho to receive food are the can and bottle collectors. The nuns said that some of them were known by the Sisters, while others were referred by other people in the area. It is a network of poor people referring other poor to the Sisters.

Adding another village to the “Porridge for Children” program!

          In early 2021, the Hong An Association accepted another ethnic minority village to participate in the “Porridge for Children” program.       Central Vietnam is very cold, but perhaps more troubling is the indifference of people for each other, even their own relatives.       Thankfully, the Dominican Sisters of the Good News always visit the poor, neglected, and lonely elderly.       Recently, the Sisters of the Lovers of the Holy Cross of Hung-Hoa organized a long trip to deliver gifts to the poor in Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.The province has more than 700,000 people. Ethnic minorities with large families make up two-thirds of the poor in this area.
